“Bespoke is Rolls-Royce and our Chinese customers know it. To celebrate China’s love of travel and the success of Bespoke in China, I am proud to unveil Pinnacle Travel Phantom. This car is a showcase of Rolls-Royce’s pre-eminence in Bespoke design seen through the prism of luxury travel.”
Torsten M?ller-?tv?s, CEO, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has unveiled the Pinnacle Travel Phantom, a new Bespoke Collection motor car, at the Beijing Motor Show. The car has been conceived both to celebrate the Chinese love of travel and the success of the Bespoke programme in China. Pinnacle Travel Phantom serves as a showcase for the imaginative heights of craftsmanship, design and excellence that emanate from the Bespoke design studios at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England, seen through the prism of modern luxury travel.
Answering this growing interest in luxury travel, the Rolls-Royce Pinnacle Travel Phantom offers a luxuriant colour palette, opulent, sumptuous materials and the most complex, beautifully hand-crafted marquetry ever seen in a Rolls-Royce, evoking the experience of travelling on luxurious cross-continental trains.
A true showcase of Bespoke artistry
Pinnacle Travel Phantom is a true showcase of the Rolls-Royce Bespoke team’s expertise. The richness of its two-tone exterior colour scheme of Madeira Red complemented by Silver Sand on the lower side panels, hints at the luxury awaiting the traveller inside. Whilst a unique Madeira Red coach line, with an abstract motif of a streamlined train travelling at speed, invites you onboard for a journey of discovery. Infinity Black combined with Silver Haze or Melanite combined with Palladium are also offered as colour schemes.
The opulent colour scheme continues inside with a number of Morello Red and Seashell leather combinations for seats, roofliner, pillars and door cards plus specifically developed Morello Red lambs wool floor mats to produce a cosseting interior in which to travel, no matter how long the journey. A further motif in Smoke Grey thread evoking luxury travel and showcasing the craftsmanship of Rolls-Royce is stitched into the seat flutes and is echoed in individual fabric cushions which heighten the comfort for both rear travellers.
The pi?ce de la resistance, however, is the most complex and intricate marquetry ever seen inside a Rolls-Royce. Using methods akin to the artistry of fine furniture makers, Rolls-Royce creates perfection through a process that marries cutting-edge technology with traditional craftsmanship. Individual pieces of wood veneer are laser-cut to ensure precision. Then, a craftsperson painstakingly assembles the sections, ensuring they perfectly express the vision of the marque’s Bespoke design team. A fastidious process of quality control follows, utilising the world’s most accurate measuring tool – the human eye.
In the case of Pinnacle Travel Phantom, 230 individual pieces of marquetry combine to create the incredibly striking motif of a cross-continental train speeding across a landscape with plumes of steam left in its wake.

A unique collection of 35 cars, inspired by one unique man.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup?, and the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coup?, are both based on the 2003 Phantom. It also won the Top Gear Car of the Year Award for 2003.
Novel features
Customers can choose from 44,000 paint colours, and specify any leather colour.[9]
Car has a power reserve dial indicating how much of the engine's power is left available to the driver. The instrument cluster is not shared with any other vehicle. Doors are remote operated.
The rear doors are rear-hinged, a style commonly referred to as suicide doors, but called 'coach doors' by Rolls-Royce. Because of the rear-seating position in relation to the rear inner-door handles, buttons are mounted on both C-pillars which operate hydraulic motors in order to close the rear doors. An electronic lock prevents the doors from being accidentally opened when moving. The car will automatically brake to a walking speed if a coach door remains open when driving off.[10] The rear doors also house umbrellas that are stored within the doors, and can only be accessed when the front or rear doors are open. The fabric of the umbrella is coated with Teflon to assist in shedding water when the wet umbrella is stored within the door.
The traditional Spirit of Ecstasy ornament has an automatic electronic retraction mechanism to prevent theft and protect pedestrians in the event of an accident. It may also be retracted by the driver at the touch of a button, and retracted when the alarm is armed. The base contains a sensor which detects movement, and will retract if tampered with.
The 'RR' logos on each of the wheel hubs are independent bezels in order to always remain upright while the wheel is rotating.
Heated and cooled cup holders, rear-seat tables, outside-temperature indicator, universal garage door opener, power tilt/telescopic heated wood and leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio, climate, and navigation controls, power open/close trunk lid, power closing doors, wireless headphones, iPod adapter, refrigerator, and air conditioning with 5-zone climate controls. There are extensive options available through the Rolls-Royce "Bespoke" programme through which the factory will create any reasonable option a customer asks for.
Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? is the latest convertible made by Rolls-Royce which debuted at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan on 7 January 2007. The platform is based on the Rolls-Royce Phantom and has styling heavily derived from the 100EX concept car unveiled to celebrate the company's centennial in 2005.
Series 2: 2013-onwards
In May 2012, Rolls Royce announced the Series 2 car, to be available from the 2013 model year. Series 2, updated by team including Giles Taylor, will have a number of updated and improved features, including:[12]
Replacement of round lower light with complementary rectangular LED light
One-piece stamped radiator grill
New single-piece wheels
New side-badge design
Extended chrome detailling around the side window
Highlighting capture strip on bottom of boot lid
Redesigned rear bumper, now one-step over two step
Integrated exhaust detailling, mirroring those on coupe
Simplified dashboard, including enlarged 8 inches (200 mm) LED screen
Improved systems rotary controller, through use of the system used on Ghost
Simplified seat designs
Improved audio, telecoms and connectivity systems
New 8-speed gearbox
The introductory base price was ?250,000 in the United Kingdom and $300,000 in the United States.
After selling 805 units in 2006, Rolls-Royce first met its annual sales target of 1,000 vehicles in 2007 (1,010 Phantoms sold, Drophead Coup? sales included).[14]

The 3,000th car rolled out of the Goodwood factory in March 2007.

The Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong has purchased a fleet of 14 extended wheelbase Phantoms to replace the Silver Spurs in the fleet, all painted in a special "Peninsula Green" and delivered in December 2006, making history for being the largest single order for the Phantom.[18]

The Phantom Coup? was featured in the 2011 British film Johnny English Reborn starring comedian Rowan Atkinson. In the film, the car features the 9.0-litre V16 engine found in the Rolls-Royce 100EX concept car, a voice recognition drive system and a laser system projected from the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament.CARJAM TV - Subscribe Here Now

It was on the morning of 1 September 1937 that Campbell established his legend, setting a world-record speed of 126.33mph in the famous Bluebird K3 boat powered by a Rolls-Royce R- Engine. The following day he went one better, piloting his craft to 129.5mph, emphatically breaking the United States' five-year stranglehold on the world water-speed record. Campbell's momentous achievement captured the world's attention and reaffirmed the Rolls-Royce R-engines' record-breaking superiority after triumphs on land and in the air.
Celebrating this incredible act of British 'Derring-Do', Rolls-Royce Motor Cars' Bespoke department has created the ROLLS-ROYCE PHANTOM DROPHEAD COUP? Waterspeed Collection, consisting of 35 specially designed Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coup?s, the first of which is displayed at Villa d'Este.
Echoing the cutting-edge technology employed in the construction of Sir Malcolm Campbell's Bluebird K3 craft, only the finest, newest materials furnish the ROLLS-ROYCE PHANTOM DROPHEAD COUP? Waterspeed Collection. Brushed steel perfectly complements an exclusively developed Maggiore Blue colour scheme whilst hand-crafted Abachi wood inlays evoke the sense of a boat effortlessly gliding through water at pace, whilst exterior coachline and laser etchings inside the car bring Campbell's 'Bluebird' motif back to life.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? Waterspeed Collection
Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? Waterspeed Collection feature a number of exclusively created Bespoke design and engineering features.
A specially created Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? Maggiore Blue colour scheme flows like water over all the surfaces of Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? Waterspeed, outside and in. Nine layers of paint are applied to the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? before an exhaustive process of hand-sanding and the application of a cutting-edge powdered lacquer is undertaken to ensure an impeccable finish on the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? . For the first time in Rolls-Royce history, the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? exterior finish extends to the engine, creating a visually striking homage to the power behind Campbell's records. The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? finish also adorns the car's specially developed, fully-polished eleven-spoke wheels, providing a subtle decorative accent. The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? exterior is completed with a hand-painted coachline that culminates in a Bluebird motif with the design taking Rolls-Royce's master coachline painter four hours to apply by hand.
Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup?'s traditional teak decking to the rear makes way for brushed steel, with each piece of material individually beaten by hand for 70 hours and then hand-brushed for a further 10.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? car's exterior finish is subtly echoed on the interior via accents on the dashboard that perfectly complement the Windchill Grey interior leather scheme. The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? marque's hallmark attention to detail extends to the application of laser-engraved door armrest tunnel caps featuring a new interpretation of Campbell's famous Bluebird motif.
Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? Abachi wood also makes its Rolls-Royce debut in Waterspeed. By nature the material is cool to the touch with a satin-like tactility, and is bookmatched at an angle to echo the wake left by a boat moving at speed.
Further Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? reference to Campbell's craft is made via a new interpretation of the famous 'power reserve' dial. As the driver presses on, the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? dial moves backwards towards a yellow and blue zone, echoing Campbell's original K3 boat's 'going into the blue' at maximum engine revolutions. A Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? Bespoke clock adorned with Bluebird's infinity symbol and dials hewn from a billet of aluminium evokes K3 further.
Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? Direct tribute to the records is paid in the glove compartment, with a debossed panel expressing the records Campbell achieved at Lake Maggiore and Coniston Water. Finally, the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? steering wheel is presented in two-tone for the very first time, with Maggiore Blue accents balancing perfectly with traditional black leather to complete a beautifully conceived interior design scheme.
"This very special Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coup? motor car serves to pay a perfect homage to my grandfather's remarkable acts of British daring and endeavour," said Donald Wales, grandson of Sir Malcolm Campbell. Rolls-Royce Phantom II Showcasing the tireless efforts of the Bespoke designers and craftspeople at the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood to “Take the best that exists and make it better,” Rolls-Royce Phantom II Serenity introduces a completely new level of individualised luxury applied to a Rolls-Royce Phantom – already considered by owners and admirers alike to be “the Best Car in the World.”
Sir Henry Royce’s maxim, “When it does not exist, design it,” inspired the latest generation of Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke designers to ask what wholly new approach to luxury would delight the most demanding and exacting people in the world – Rolls-Royce customers. Their answer came from Rolls-Royce’s deep understanding of the most precious, beautiful and natural materials.
Silk would prove to be the route to a new definition of luxury, one that guarantees every customer a canvas for completely unique design, every time.
The marque’s Rolls-Royce Phantom II Bespoke Design team took inspiration from the opulent interiors of Rolls-Royces that have conveyed Kings and Queens, Emperors and Empresses and world leaders. Add to this, contemporary interpretations of furniture design combined with Japanese Royal robe motifs and Rolls-Royce designers have delivered a truly innovative, thoroughly modern and tranquil Rolls-Royce interior.
Of course, the creation of the most opulent Rolls-Royce Phantom II interior of any luxury car could not simply rely on beautiful silk upholstery. Taking its cue from the world of modern furniture design, the rear occupants’ elevated and powerful seating position has been accentuated with the valances of the seats made from rare Smoked Cherrywood. Reminding one of the drivers’ position in the early 1900’s motor car, the seats in the front of the car are clothed in Arctic White leather.
Rolls-Royce Phantom II Smoked Cherrywood continues the Oriental theme within the cabin, applied the Serenity’s door cappings, dash fascia and rear centre console, but further embellished by another beautiful Far-Eastern wood – Bamboo – with the highly skilled application of Bamboo cross-banding.
In addition, the Rolls-Royce Phantom II blossom motif from the silk is recreated through the finest marquetry on the rear door cappings through the use of Mother of Pearl, which is laser-cut and hand-applied, petal by petal into the wood. Mother of Pearl is created when two substances, one mineral and the other organic, combine. Tiny hexagonal plates of aragonite, a form of calcium carbonate, are arranged in layers alternating with conchiolin, a flexible protein similar to silk that is secreted by the mollusk.
This theme is continued in the 2016 Rolls-Royce Phantom II driver’s compartment of the car with Mother of Pearl applied to the face of Bespoke Serenity’s clock and the driver’s instrument dials. This Mother of Pearl face is etched with concentric circles redolent of the raked gravel seen in Japanese gardens, and is inlaid with hand-applied rubies which echo the colour of the hand-painted flowers in the silk lining.
Continuing the theme of ultimate luxury, the Rolls-Royce Phantom II luggage compartment of Serenity is lined in Arctic White leather with an Arctic White carpet.
As a final touch, two parasols featuring the Serenity motif are held by Bespoke leather loops incorporated into the boot lid.
